True Motor Skills

Fine motor skills are crucial to success across a number of subjects, including Math and Literacy. The activities in True Motor Skills systematically develop and enhance your child’s fine motor skills with a progression of simple yet highly effective pencil and craft activities.

Level 1

Builds core pencil skills vital to successful letter and number formation. Your child will connect a series of relational objects by drawing horizontal, vertical and diagonal lines. The activities purposefully expose your child to early analogies. Later activities challenge your child to draw zigzags and curves. These activities systematically lead to pre-number writing activities that incorporate lines, zigzags, curves and loops in ever more challenging layouts.

Level 2

Level 2 presents more advance pencil work that further refines your child’s motor skills. Your child will trace spirals, loops and angles in exercises that require ever increasing degrees of control. Along with more difficult line work, Level 2 contains charming mazes that require coordination, spatial awareness and forethought.

Level 3

Cut-Fold-Assemble activities improve your child’s motor dexterity as well as reinforce your child’s ability to follow directions. At first, the activities consist of simple line cutting, folding and taping projects. Later projects involve creating puzzles and tangrams. More complex cut and assemble activities allow your child to create headbands, watches and other playful objects.

Level 4

Your child will be captivated by exciting Cut-Fold-Assemble projects such as finger puppets, cootie catchers, flip books and other fun play objects. These projects involve multiple steps, and therefore, require your child to follow directions and plan ahead. The activities of True Motor Skills will not only enhance your child’s fine motor skills, but will also improve your child’s ability to concentrate on a prolong task.
